From Then to Now:
Rochester’s Original Restaurant & Microbrewery was founded in 1991 as a small family owned and operated microbrewery and restaurant. Rohrbach’s opened its first restaurant and small seven-barrel brewery in 1992 in the Historic German House in Rochester’s South Wedge neighborhood. In 1995 Rohrbach’s purchased and renovated a building on Rochester’s west side, and opened a 120-seat restaurant, and a larger twenty-barrel brewery in its current operation on Buffalo Road.
For more than two decades the company has grown and prospered on the principles of which it was founded. Treat your employees as if they are family and part of an important team.
Few Words from The Owner:
Where did you find your inspiration to open Rohrbach Brewing Company? “First craft beer I enjoyed was at the Anchor Brewery in San Francisco and loved it. Then I spent 2 years in Beer Heaven – Germany! When I moved back to Rochester in 1987 I know then that my hometown need a brewery that was passionate about flavorful beers.”
What’s your favorite aspect of the company? “When I see the passionate efforts of our team translated into appreciative customers. Also working with staff that totally enjoy what they do for a living.”
